The heart of JUNB
Welcome! My name is Meliea. I am the owner of JunB Pet Services.
Animals have been apart of my life since the day I was born! From working at petting zoos and rescues all the way to my mom and I finding animals that need help. This led me to enroll in the small animal science program at BOCES and FFA in high school. Once college came along I knew animals were a must. I received a degree in Agricultural Technology which I absolutely love but knew I wanted dogs to be a main passion in my life.
I enrolled in online classes to earn my Dog Trainers Certificate through QC Pet Studies while learning even more about grooming from my time at BOCES.
I continued to shadow once I received my certificate and I strive to learn more every day. I love that there is always more to learn and new ways everyday to help dogs thrive in more positive and beneficial ways.
I have had many animals throughout my life. Juno was my "first" rescue (the dog you get in your 20s officially on your own!) the situation she came from and what she went through really inspired me to learn more and be able to help other animals going through the same type of situations. That is also where the name JunB was inspired from, I call her Juno Bee. This lead me into my first foster of the year (which was adopted by my mom so technically not a foster fail) and joining more movements in the rescue world.
This is also an important factor on my 1:1 grooming. Some dogs do not do well in the world of multiple dogs, fast pace life of larger grooming facilities. By being 1:1 I can give the time and space that some dogs or new puppies need to have a positive grooming experience.
Helping clients and their pets is one of my favorite parts. To be able to take a passion of mine and be able to help others and help animals is a blessing.
Our Crew
Jinnie
Jinnie is the dog you run and get because you know it's the perfect match, and boy is that right! She's spunky, goofy, and very sweet. She knows how to read a room very well and is an advocate for other dogs who may be nervous and need help from another supportive furry friend.
She loves going everywhere. You may see her at events, the shop, or around town.
This year we hope to get Jinnie in to agility and herding training!
Juno
Juno and I bonded instantly. She had a very unknown but difficult past. She was very young when we got her and little did we know...pregnant.
She was strong and pushed through all of the challenges. We have worked on confidence around people and though she prefers being a homebody her improvement is tremendous. She is a very special, caring, and loving girl who will almost never say no to a belly rub. She loves going for hikes and any outdoor adventures she can tag along on.
Oliver
Though dogs are my world, I do have a couple family cats. My baby is Oliver. He was found in a chicken coop malnourished and abandoned. Truthfully he is more like a dog. He hangs out with them instead of the other cats, insists on his spot in bed, and can hear a cheese wrapper from a mile away. He is the best boy and the girls best friend.
